This is what the garden looked like when we first moved in, back in 2009...
So far we have fenced around the rest of the garden and had a deck built over part of the patio after having patio doors put in the living room, with steps leading onto the deck, which has a wicker effect sofa on it and a set of raised beds my mum and I built in 2010.
The fencing, deck and raised beds:
We have had some good times on the deck so far (the other half had to have a big tv that swings from a wall bracket and can be positioned so it can be watched from out on the deck...was great for the Word Cup and football matches when people came over...the deck is also great for barbecues and sitting around the fire pit we bought...Summer nights are on their way again...can't wait!).
The next plans for the garden are a shed with a veranda (hopefully big enough to do crafting in during the Summer!), a greenhouse for growing vegetables and a veg patch, an area for fruit (got to have strawberries!) with patio fruit trees against the fence, plenty of plant borders brimming with perennials and foliage plants and some lattice planters to fill in any gaps! See below for my ideas.
I would like to paint whichever shed I get and turn it into a nice little craft room/office. I'll be picking colours from either Cuprinol Garden shades or Sadolin Four Seasons paints, which both have great colours for exterior wood. Here's an example of some painted sheds along the lines of what I would like to do:
Here's some of the colours I like:
If I ever won the lottery I would definitely be getting the whole range of beautiful fantasy garden sculptures from Enchanted by Mark Turner and Michael Steel. These are my favourites:
I'll definitely be getting a few smaller ones as a gift to myself (hehe) when I finish the garden! I think I inherited my love of fantasy and fairies as both my mum and nan love them too. Here's a few smaller ones:
In this last picture, by the fairies feet are wishing coins. I have a few from a while back and just thought how lovely these would go with the DCWV 'Once Upon A Time' paper stack...
